Advisor Credentials and the CFA Exam Pass Rate

cfalogo_registered-150x150Did you know the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is widely regarded as the global “gold standard” of investment advisor credentials? The CFA program “is truly a meritocracy and if you can’t demonstrate you are capable, it doesn’t matter who you are, whose son or daughter.”  That’s something you should think about if you are searching for an investment advisor.

Attaining the CFA charter requires passing three progressively difficult, six-hour exams. These are remarkably challenging exams for the thousands of aspiring investment professionals who take them in early June of each year.  For the June 2013 exam, just 38% of test takers passed the first level test. Here is a table of historical CFA exam pass rates.
