No-Overlap ETF Model Portfolios™

Our No-Overlap ETF Models™ serve as investable benchmarks to help clients capture and compound long-term returns and compare the performance of various strategic asset allocations. We hand-pick an efficient mix of ETFs tracking key market sectors, ensuring diversification across thousands of securities without overlap. Our selections are ultra-low-cost and liquid, easy to buy or sell, and have a proven track record of best-in-class historical performance.

Our models progress from Conservative to Aggressive, with increasing expected risk-return. We achieve this by gradually increasing the proportion of growth-oriented investments (stocks) and decreasing the proportion of defensive investments (high-grade, short-term bonds). While our core models focus on stocks and bonds, we recognize that every investor is unique. If desired, clients can customize their portfolios by including other asset classes, such as Gold or Bitcoin. We also offer custom-tailored solutions that build on our models and reflect individual tax circumstances, goals, and preferences.

Here’s a brief description of each ETF available in our ETF Model Portfolios™

  1. iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV): This ETF seeks to track the performance of the S&P 500 Index, which includes 500 of the largest U.S. companies. The underlying assets are stocks of large-cap U.S. companies, providing exposure to a broad range of industries. IVV is a core holding for investors looking to capture large-capitalization U.S. stock market performance. Click for Factsheet.

  2. Vanguard Extended Market ETF (VXF): The VXF ETF tracks the performance of the S&P Completion Index, which includes thousands of U.S. stocks not part of the S&P 500. The underlying assets consist primarily of mid-cap and small-cap stocks, providing investors with exposure to companies that complement the large-cap holdings in the S&P 500.

  3. Vanguard Total International Stock ETF (VXUS): VXUS provides exposure to a broad range of non-U.S. companies, including both developed and emerging markets. The underlying assets are international equities, which offer diversification beyond the U.S. markets and include a mix of large, mid, and small-cap stocks.

  4. iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT): This ETF is designed to provide investors with exposure to Bitcoin. The underlying asset is Bitcoin itself, held in a trust, allowing investors to gain exposure to this cryptocurrency without needing to manage it directly.

  5. Vanguard Short-Term Bond ETF (BSV): The BSV ETF invests in short-term investment-grade U.S. bonds. The underlying assets are U.S. government and high-grade corporate debt, with an average maturity of 1 to 5 years. These bonds offer lower risk than longer-term, lower-quality bonds. 6. iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF (STIP): STIP focuses on U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) with 0-5 years maturities. The underlying assets are government bonds adjusted for inflation, providing protection against rising consumer prices while maintaining a short duration and less risk from rising interest rates.

  7. iShares 0-3 Month Treasury ETF (SGOV): SGOV invests in U.S. Treasury bills with maturities of 0-3 months. The underlying assets are short-term U.S. government securities, offering minimal risk and serving as a safe haven for investors seeking stability and liquidity.

  8. SPDR Gold MiniShares (GLDM): GLDM provides exposure to gold by holding physical gold in a trust. The underlying asset is gold bullion, offering investors a way to gain exposure to the price movements of gold without needing to physically own the metal, often used as a hedge against inflation or currency fluctuations.

The Benefits of ETF Model Portfolios

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offer investors an efficient way to diversify their portfolios across various asset classes, sectors, factors, and regions. With low expense ratios, transparency, and liquidity, ETFs allow easy access to capital markets and investment strategies. ETF model portfolios take this further by offering pre-built, diversified portfolios tailored to specific risk tolerances and investment goals. These models simplify the investment process, reduce risk and stressful decision-making, and allow investors to benefit from professional asset allocation and rebalancing strategies.
